A much better video than the one on the picasa page

Still in California

As most of you know, we just moved into a nice townhouse here in Santa Clarita, so we'll be in California for at least another year. So I thought it was time to show a little state-triatism, if that can be a thing. Plus I really love the california flag, and have wanted to put it up for a while. Shelley and I are still working the same jobs, so nothing new there.

Ella, however, just had her big dance recital, wherein she had 4 numbers in the first show, and 2 in the second show (2 of the same she danced in the first show). It went really well, and for added greatness Mammo and Grandad were out here to watch it! We had a really fun time with them, and really appreciate all that they did to help us out, including taking care of Desi, driving Ella to gymnastics, dance, and taking her to the Getty Villa. And Mammo was a great help backstage with Ella's costume changes. We managed to pack even more into their already busy visit, Dad and I went to a Dodgers game with Matt, Tom, Nick and Paul, which was great fun, and we went to Disneyland with them on their last full day here, which wiped them out completely, but was a lot of fun.

I have even put a bunch of pictures up on the new picasa page, under the incredibly clever name of camera dump. I haven't yet had a chance to edit them, so sorry if there are unflattering ones on there. The last few pictures are of the downstairs of our new house, with detail shots of the snails that Ella put on every door of the house. Shelley and I got two on our door, which there will be pictures of later when the upstairs is suitable for having it's picture taken.

February

The kids were pretty happy this morning and took some good pictures. The odd one out is from Ella's first performance, which was last friday at Sunrise Assisted Living for Valentine's Day. She's on the Junior Performance Team at Shooting Stars, and this was their first gig. Everybody did really well, and the folks liked it a lot too. They've got a few more dates lined up. Video exists, but I'm not promising anything. They danced to "L-O-V-E' by Natalie Cole. She's also going to be in a variety show in a dance with some other girls from Shooting Stars in March.

Desi has an ear infection and has been a royal pain, mostly to Shelley, who has to work with a screaming, whining leach all day. But he's getting better, and looks like a little baby gorilla. He can say 'apple' and 'nana' (banana). He also has 16 teeth, which is pretty much all of them, we think, until he turns two.
He really likes to brush them, and will point at his toothbrush and whine when Ella's brushing her teeth.

The possibility exists that we will post more in a timely fashion.
